West Village Historic District
The West Village is a National Historic District made up of over 100 unique 19th century residential houses, many of them boasting architectural styles of Second Empire, Gothic Revival and Italianate. A short walk from downtown Buffalo, the district is one of the city's oldest neighborhoods and was built on the estate of Buffalo's first mayor, Ebenezer Johnson. Within the core of the West Village lies Johnson Park which was redesigned by Frederick Olmsted in 1876.
