Buffalo's Historic Cottage District
The Cottage District is a tiny neighborhood on Buffalo's West Side neighborhood made up of tiny 1850-1900’s Civil War brick cottages and beautiful Victorian homes. Bounded by Connecticut Street, and Richmond, Porter, and Prospect Avenues, Buffalo's Cottage District is a delight to visit in the summer. This District is just about unrivaled in terms of the quantity and quality of gardens in just a few blocks, making this area one of the most popular spots each summer in Buffalo's famous Garden Walk. You could spend your whole day wandering around Summer (Little Summer), Ketchum, Union, York, and Jersey and you’d have a very good sense of the epitome of what Buffalo gardeners can do in small, urban spaces. Here's a few of my favorite homes (and gardens) within the Historic Cottage District... enjoy!
